Dear Friend of North Union Farmers Market,

North Union Farmers Market is an integral link in sustaining the economic, environmental and health benefits of locally-grown foods. To continue this vital role in our communities on a daily basis we need your support!
Since 1995, North Union has worked toward:
- Preservation and growth of family-owned farms in Northeast Ohio by matching growers and consumers at seven farmers' market locations each week.
- Education of the public on health and taste benefits of locally-raised foods with events and speakers at dozens of schools, markets, block clubs and nonprofits.
- Incubation of more than 300 small businesses, all locally-owned and operated.
- Tireless advocacy for small farmers so they can maintain their small but growing share of a competitive, regulated market.
- Energizing of the local food movement, helping position Cleveland as a major force in new American cuisine.
North Union partners with local leaders Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland State University, Ohio State University and thirty-plus nonprofit organizations. We share a common goal: to educate the public about the many benefits of buying and eating local.
North Union helps hundreds of small family farms, artists and artisan producers refine their marketing strategies and improve their businesses through our annual training program, A Time to Grow.
North Union works with community development corporations and neighborhood senior centers to ensure that local seniors can purchase fresh, nutritious food in their communities.
For families struggling to put food on the table, we implemented a food stamp program at our markets.
We created a new broad-based FUNdraiser - Cleveland Garlic Festival, a fantastic two-day celebration of our region's best garlic farmers, chefs and headliner music!
North Union Farmers Market does all this and more with a tiny staff and a corps of dedicated volunteers. But we need YOUR help!
Your tax-deductible gift to the North Union Annual Fund helps:
-create sustainable jobs in a tough economy
-underwrite at-farm training and certification to ensure a producer-only marketplace
-assist in accessing healthy, farm-fresh, local food
Your generous gift today will help us further our mission in 2012.
